The proposed solution would be open initially to new and prioritised Departmental leaders from all divisions and functional areas of the BBC, including staff from public service and commercial areas, based across the UK and around the world. We are seeking a trusted external partner to design and deliver this new blended learning solution. There are around 950 Departmental Leaders in the BBC. Approximately 70 are new to their role each year. Places on the blended cohort development programme will be targeted at newly transitioned leaders in their first departmental leader role. We estimate a minimum annual demand of 70 per year for this leadership solution, covering all newcomers to that level and a small number of others prioritised to promote accelerated progression. However, we are interested in working with external partners with the capacity to scale up to offer more places on the programme to meet business need. BBC departmental leaders carry out a range of roles and are key to the BBC's ability to deliver value to all audiences whilst changing and adapting. They are mainly highly experienced professionals managing relatively large areas of the BBC.
