The Council would like to hear from organisations who have experience of and are committed to providing person centred, inclusive support to ensure that vulnerable people are treated equally, have control over their own money and are able to achieve financial independence. The purpose of the Support and Advice Service is to provide independent advice and practical help to vulnerable adults, their families and other unpaid care providers, who are known to social services, with day-to-day money matters. For clarity the population groups are adults with a learning disability, adults with a physical impairment, adults experiencing mental ill health and older people. The service promotes the financial independence of vulnerable adults who have care and support needs.
