The Service is split to two lots: - Lot 1 is for the provision of statutory and non-statutory advocacy for all vulnerable residents of Knowsley; and any person directed under statutory legislation where Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council (KMBC) is the designated local authority. - Lot 2 is for the provision of statutory children’s advocacy for children and young people resident to Knowsley. The Provider of lot 1 will provide independent advocacy for vulnerable Knowsley residents in respect to the legislation in section 4 above. It will also provide advocacy support on local projects, generic issue-based advocacy, parental advocacy, and Self / Peer Advocacy. Where appropriate the Provider of lot 1 will enable the continuity of an advocate for individual service users, in line with Care Act 2014 guidance, where more than one piece of legislation applies. The Provider of lot 1 will develop relationships with the Provider of lot 2 to ensure timely and appropriate referrals.
