Ofsted has responsibility for registering and regulating the following types of children's social care services; children's homes, supported accommodation, residential family centres, independent fostering agencies, voluntary adoption agencies, adoption support agencies and residential holiday schemes for disabled children. In addition, a manager must be appointed at each children's home and supported accommodation service, and must be registered separately with Ofsted. Children's social care services provide care to a range of vulnerable children and young people, including those with physical, psychological or behavioural problems. Certain applicants, such as childminders and social care registered managers, must complete a Health Declaration Form (HDF) before they are registered with Ofsted. On this form applicants must declare any health conditions and share information provided by their GP.
