The aim of the Service is to: Provide a dedicated safe and effective community-based therapeutic assessment area in the least restrictive setting, as an alternative to an acute setting where experienced staff can support the young person in developing a plan to facilitate safe discharge. The location of the safe accommodation must be centrally based for the population of Swansea Bay with good access links to and from Swansea and Neath Port Talbot. Ensure that the young person does not require emergency medical treatment/care The Service can be used by a young person for up to 24 hours. The intention is that any young person using this space would then return home/to a pre-arranged location the community.
