The recent procurement resulted in the award of six contracts that will commence in April 2024 and run for a period of 10 years with the option to extend, for up to a further five years. The contracts contain an option for bulky waste for occasions when shredding facilities are not available. All delivery points for residual waste are outside of Hertfordshire and therefore, there is a requirement for the Council to bulk Local Authority Collected Waste (LACW) at transfer stations prior to onward transportation to the disposal facilities. Details of awarded contracts can be found in Appendix 1.To facilitate this approach the Council is developing a network of Waste Transfer Stations (WTS) to serve the county.
