As the Waste Disposal Authority, Devon County Council has the responsibility for the safe disposal of healthcare waste collected by the Waste Collection Authorities (District Councils) of Devon. The disposal shall be by means of heat treatment. This contract involves the collection of healthcare waste from District Council Transfer Stations and receipt of healthcare waste via deliveries from the District Councils. This contract will replace the existing provision for this service for an initial service term of 2 years until 31st March 2025 with option to extend, subject to mutual agreement for a period of up to 36 months.
