The service pays staff and creditors, enables us to receive money, and provides the ability to withdraw and deposit cash, all of which the Force relies on to be able to provide the core service to the public. Without the contract, the policing function of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and the Force would not have an ability to receive and pay money, and therefore would be unable to function. Currently electronic systems are in place to allow banking transactions to be undertaken, with specific authorisation levels.
