The two Libraries are distinct and separate organisations, each with its own user base. The two Libraries coordinate their collections to maximise taxpayer's value for money. The Authority's Libraries require a search tool that allows users to search across print and online content in a location with ability to access subscribed contents or be signposted directly. The Authority's Library is interested in a solution with the following but not limited to these functionalities: - Indexing of the Commons Library local collections (library catalogue), consisting of around 230,000 titles. - Access to a central index (or equivalent federated searching index coverage) where electronic and print journals (around 165 subscribed journal titles plus others contained in a small number of subscription databases) can be searched at article level.
