HS2 will be built in two phases; the second phase split into two sub-phases. Phase One covers the route between London and Birmingham. The line will then extend to Crewe – known as Phase 2a. The rest of Phase Two (Phase 2b) continues the High Speed network to Manchester in the West. As part of phase one, HS2 Ltd plans to build four new stations: Phase One stations at Euston, Old Oak Common, Birmingham Curzon Street and Interchange. HS2 Ltd has appointed Station Contractors for Euston, Old Oak Common and Birmingham Curzon Street and is in the process of procuring the Station Contractor Interchange. HS2 Ltd intends to establish a series of framework agreements for the design, manufacture, supply, installation and maintenance of station common components for the new HS2 stations to be constructed along the Phase One route.
