It is anticipated that initial expenditure will be in the region of £7,000,000. NHS Supply Chain are supporting DHSC and the NHS in securing a volume of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure ("CPAP") devices required to manage a shortage in supply, as a result of ongoing global supply issues of the devices. The circumstances has resulted in a demand with extreme urgency for treatment in emergency cases and urgent referrals, combined with an increasing backlog of cases.
