[Scottish Natural Heritage](https://tendernation.io/buyers/scottish-natural-heritage) Estimated value Not stated Published 25 May 2021 Deadline Rolling deadline ## Who can bid - Open procedure Anyone can submit a full tender; there is no shortlisting stage. ## About this tender The current preferred method of herbivore population assessment is expensive and has a high carbon footprint – we need to find greener and more cost-effective ways of collecting, collating, quality assuring and sharing the data relating to this task. Scottish Natural Heritage undertake herbivore population assessments in order to determine and manage populations. This challenge will specifically focus on deer counting. The current methods of gathering data – primarily through helicopter flights – are costly and have a high carbon footprint. Furthermore, methods of collating, quality assuring, presenting and sharing the data are also fairly costly in terms of staff time needed to ensure a high level of accuracy to generate stakeholder confidence in findings. So how can we use technology to estimate herbivore populations and their impacts across Scotland in a greener and more cost effective way? Please note: Scottish Natural Heritage will soon be changing its name to Nature Scot Please visit our website for information on CivTech and how to get involved [civtechalliance.org/civtech-innovation-flow](https://www.civtechalliance.org/civtech-innovation-flow) ## CPV classification Research and development services and related consultancy services Wildlife preservation services IT services: consulting, software development, Internet and support Computer support and consultancy services Software programming and consultancy services Business and management consultancy and related services Data collection and collation services Source Find a Tender (UK) · Notice ocds-h6vhtk-02b49b-2021-05-25T09:15:03+01:00 [View official notice](https://www.find-tender.service.gov.uk/Notice/ocds-h6vhtk-02b49b-2021-05-25T09:15:03+01:00) Never miss a tender like this again Get AI summaries, deadline alerts and a bid pipeline for tenders matched to your business.
