# Central Digital Platform

The government's online system, run through Find a Tender, where buyers publish Procurement Act notices and suppliers register their details once.

Updated 14 Oct 2026

The Central Digital Platform (CDP) is the government's online system for public procurement under the Procurement Act 2023. It runs through the [Find a Tender](/glossary/find-a-tender) service and does two jobs: it is where buyers publish their notices, and it is where suppliers register their core details once and share them with buyers.

## What it means

[Section 95 of the Procurement Act 2023](https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2023/54/section/95) allows regulations to set up an online system for notices and information. [Regulation 5 of the Procurement Regulations 2024](https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2024/692/regulation/5/made) requires notices to be published on the central digital platform, and [regulation 6](https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2024/692/regulation/6/made) requires buyers to confirm that bidders have shared their "core supplier information" through it.

The government's [Central Digital Platform factsheet](https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/procurement-act-2023-short-guides/central-digital-platform-factsheet-html) explains the supplier side. You register your organisation on Find a Tender, complete basic information, declare it is correct and then generate a [share code](/glossary/unique-identifier-share-code) or download a file to give the buyer. Your bids themselves are still submitted through each buyer's own e-tendering portal.

Notices on the platform cover the whole life of a contract: [pipeline notices](/glossary/pipeline-notice), tender notices, award and contract details notices, performance, change and termination notices.

## Why it matters for SMEs

The CDP saves small suppliers from retyping the same company facts into every buyer's portal. It also means one place to search for new opportunities across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, rather than dozens of buyer sites.

The catch: buyers can rely on what you have entered. The factsheet is clear that accuracy is the supplier's responsibility.

## Practical tip

Register and complete your supplier profile now, before a deadline forces you to. Collect the details you will need (company numbers, connected persons, financial information) in one place. Our [Central Digital Platform checklist](/tools/central-digital-platform-checklist) lists them, and the [Procurement Act 2023 guide](/guides/procurement-act-2023-smes) explains the wider changes.
