Core services include: - PaaS: provides platform tools needed to create applications that will provide a service over the internet (as well as other things) - IaaS: provides compute, storage, networking and other hardware capabilities micro-services such as third party subscription services that run in customer tenancies and are directly related to the usage, security, governance, optimisation and/or management of your core services For more information on PaaS and IaaS, read the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Definition of Cloud Computing. There is also the option to buy ongoing and value adding services, that are ancillary to your core cloud services from cloud partners and resellers, such as: - Optimised billing and administration - ‘FinOps’ tooling For more information, read the products and suppliers section below. You can buy these services independently or alongside resold core services. You can also buy professional support services either independently or alongside any core or value adding service. These are consultancy and enterprise support services provided by cloud partners and experts to support your planning, adoption or maximisation of cloud computing. This agreement will run from 28 November 2023 for 3 years and will end in 2027. Lot 1 Core Services Access all core cloud compute services including: - Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) - Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) - Cloud native microservices, for example, virtualisation tools - Hybrid and 'edge' computing services Hybrid and ‘edge’ services are solutions where you are able to host some of your computing capacities within your own sites instead of only in big data centres. The rest of your computing system will be hosted from a datacentre. This allows you to process some of your work with less time delay due to distance. You can also access offline use as the system within your own site can still be online when the datacentre is out of reach. The owners of public cloud platforms can provide these services over the public internet and/or through a government approved network. You can also add on professional services including auditing, consultancy, training and customer or enterprise support, which must be bought as part of the same call off as other services within this lot. You can not buy them independently through this lot. 2. Lot 2 Value-Added Ancillary Services Buy core cloud services through a reseller or cloud partner or any number of ancillary ongoing services. Ancillary services can help you optimise your self sufficiency, security and economic management of the cloud. You can buy resold core services or value adding ancillary services separately or together in the same call off. You can also add any professional services as an extra. This includes auditing, consultancy, training and customer or enterprise support. You must buy these services as part of the same call off as other services within this lot. They can not be bought independently. 3. Lot 3 Professional Services Buy professional cloud services including: - Cloud consultancy - Adoption planning/support and user training for moving from existing on premise computing solutions to cloud - Target operating model and cloud strategy development support services - Auditing services - Customer and enterprise support provided by cloud partners 4. Lot 4 Cloud Secure+ Access the full scope of services available in lots 1 to 3 from suppliers who comply with your 'UK secret' security classification requirements. ## Open call-offs Live notices that mention RM6292.
