# Stotles vs Tussell: which UK public sector intelligence tool fits?

Stotles and Tussell both sell UK public sector market intelligence, but one leans towards sales and bid workflow and the other towards deep market data. A fair side-by-side.

Updated 14 Oct 2026

Pick Tussell if you want the deepest, most cleaned-up UK data on spend, frameworks and contract awards for market analysis and account planning, and you're ready for an annual contract priced by quote. Pick Stotles if you want buyer intelligence that feeds straight into selling and bidding, with a free plan, published starting prices and AI bid-writing tools in the same product.

> **Pricing note:** Details below were checked in **October 2026** (on 14 October) on the [Stotles pricing page](https://www.stotles.com/pricing), the [Tussell plans page](https://www.tussell.com/pricing) and the [Tussell FAQs](https://www.tussell.com/faqs). Prices are shown as each vendor publishes them and may differ in whether VAT is included. Plans change, so check each vendor's site before you buy.

## The short answer

- **Choose Tussell** if your team does market research, account planning and competitor analysis, and data quality matters more than workflow. It says itself that it is "not an e-procurement, bid management or AI bid-writing tool".
- **Choose Stotles** if your team wants to find buyer intent, contact decision makers and then qualify and draft bids in one place, and you'd like to start free and see prices before talking to sales.
- **They overlap a lot.** Both offer pre-tender signals, decision-maker contacts, framework data and an API. The difference is what each is built around.

## How each describes the other

Both vendors publish a comparison that mentions the other. Read them as what they are: each company making its own case.

- **Tussell on Stotles** ([tussell.com/competitors](https://www.tussell.com/competitors), as of October 2026): Stotles is "a UK public sector sales platform, who specialise in bid workflow management", while Tussell is "a pure-play UK public sector market intelligence platform", stronger at "deep, reliable market research and intelligence".
- **Stotles on Tussell** ([stotles.com/competitors](https://www.stotles.com/competitors), as of October 2026): Tussell is "a database of past awards and spend", suited to "retrospective work", while Stotles is "the end-to-end platform for identifying buyer intent and shaping the tender".

Both descriptions point to the same split. Tussell leads on data depth and analysis, Stotles on turning signals into sales and bids.

On 14 October 2026 it showed Sales Studio Basic from £50, £75 and £99 a month, Bid Studio Growth from £495 and £990 a month, and a combined Growth plan with sales and bid tools from £873 a month. The table uses the figures on its main plan cards. Ask Stotles which applies to you.

Tussell gives a price after a call. Its FAQ says pricing depends on business size, contract length, tier and add-ons. Some third-party sites quote a Tussell figure; we couldn't find one on Tussell's own supplier pages, so we don't repeat it.

- **You can start without a sales call.** A free plan, published starting prices and self-serve sign-up.
- **Selling and bidding in one product.** Buyer intent, contacts, bid/no-bid reports, a bid library and AI first drafts sit together.
- **Integrations listed up front.** Salesforce, HubSpot, Teams and Slack are on the pricing page.

## Where Tussell is stronger

- **Data depth and cleaning.** De-duplicated records, call-offs linked to parent frameworks by hand and research to fill gaps. This matters if you report market share or build plans from the numbers.
- **Spend and framework analysis.** Spend and invoice data and framework Lot usage are central to the product, not an upper-tier extra.
- **FOI requests and account management built in.** Every tier includes anonymised FOI requests and a named Account Manager.

## Questions to ask on both demos

1. Which plan do I need for spend data, framework call-offs and decision-maker contacts, and what does that cost a year for my team size?
2. Is the contract annual? What happens at renewal, and how much notice do I give to cancel?
3. How many users does the price include, and what does an extra seat cost?
4. Show me the last three contracts my main competitor won from my top buyer. How long did that take to find?
5. Where does your pre-tender signal come from for my sector, and how far ahead of the tender did it appear last time?

## Where TenderNation fits

TenderNation isn't trying to match Tussell's market research depth or Stotles' account-based sales tooling. It's built for SMEs and bid consultants whose main job is finding the right tenders, deciding quickly and writing the bid.

- **Free plan** with a fit score and bid/no-bid call on every tender. Professional is £49/month, Business £149/month for up to five people, Consultant £249/month. See [pricing](/pricing).
- **AI bid drafting from your own bid library**, from Professional.
- **Early signals** (pre-market notices, re-tender forecasts, incumbent-at-risk alerts) on Business.
- **Free tools with no signup**, such as [Who won it?](/tools/who-won-it), the [contract expiry finder](/tools/contract-expiry-finder) and [supplier pages](/suppliers).

It doesn't cover Wales (Sell2Wales) or Northern Ireland yet. For more detail, see [TenderNation vs Tussell](/compare/tussell-alternative) and [TenderNation vs Stotles](/compare/stotles-alternative).
